Getter, born Tanner Petulla, is an American DJ, producer, rapper, and comedian hailing from San Jose, California. He began his music career at the age of 17 and gained popularity with his dubstep tracks, becoming one of the pioneers of the “brostep” genre. However, he later transitioned to a more experimental sound that blends elements of dubstep, hip-hop, and trap.
“I’m just trying to make music that is real and that people can connect with. I don’t want to be just another artist making disposable content. I want to make something that will last.”
Getter has released multiple EPs, albums, and collaborations with notable artists such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, and Borgore. He has also performed at major music festivals around the world, including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival. Beyond music, Getter has also pursued a career in comedy, releasing comedic skits and videos on his YouTube channel.
In addition to his music and comedy endeavors, Getter is known for his dedication to mental health awareness. In 2018, he canceled his tour due to mental health concerns and later spoke openly about his struggles with depression and anxiety. He has since used his platform to encourage his fans to seek help and support those struggling with mental health issues.
